The Education Syndicate launched the implementation of a new project "Growing Equal", in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. The project is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme of the European Union, Contract No: 101005862 - Growing Up Equal - REC-RGEN-WWLB-AG-2020.

The project addresses the topic of gender stereotypes in primary education (grades 3-4), aiming to raise awareness among more than 500 education professionals on the need to address the negative effect of gender stereotypes on life choices from primary education onwards and to provide teachers and school administrators with adequate tools to tackle the problem, without creating negative societal attitudes.

The project will develop online open resources and tools for schools. Preliminary testing of the tools in 3 schools in different sized cities is planned to determine their feasibility, and in a next stage, training of teachers will be conducted in 15 locations in the country. The trainings will be combined with a pre-assessment of knowledge/attitudes for impact evaluation. Widespread dissemination of the project results will be achieved through the use of partners' networks (teachers and representatives of NGOs at national and local level working in the field of education). The project will end with a National Education Forum with the participation of more than 60 representatives of educational institutions, MoE and NGOs.
